Women’s History Is Human History!‍ ‍

Every day, I am astounded by my own ignorance when it comes to the power and achievements of woman throughout human history. My song, IF A WOMAN HAD MADE THE WORLD, asks that core question …

We will not surrender our freedoms to fascists! We will not allow fear, conflicts and violence to be used in stoking more fears, creating new conflicts and perpetuating more violence. This is where the power of music makes itself known to all!

There are great performances coming up this month — many of which are celebrating women and women’s history. I will be performing on Sunday, March 15th at Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture, and also on Monday, March 23rd at SHRINE in Harlem with a great ensemble, some free merchandise, and a brand new song!

A FAB FEB FOR FUN!

Bad Bunny turned America on its head with an outstanding performance during an enjoyable Super Bowl! You just can’t beat the combination of MAGA meltdown and Patriots loss!

This was particularly powerful for me during Black History Month, because so much of Africa’s heritage and legacy to the Western Hemisphere was on display and implied by the Bad Bunny presentation. So much of our American culture is rooted in Africa.

OCTALBUM FEST IS HERE!

This October is a sobering time in many ways, but we, the people, are getting stronger and our desire for peace and social justice is our fire. My debut album, PREACHER MAN - VOL. 1, will be formally announced on October 9th and the pre-orders will start on that date, along with the release of a new single! The fierce of urgency of “now” will be celebrated in the music you will soon hear. Thank you for reading these blog posts and for supporting my music!

OMG! IT'S FALREADY?!

I admit that I have yet to go to the beach this year. That’s sick! And one of the best Labor Day weekends ever just passed … and I was inside for almost all of it! Well, that’s the price of commitment — my commitment to finishing my very first real music album this month for release in October!

Yes, PREACHER MAN- VOL. 1 is almost done! (I have to keep saying that to myself because this world full of distractions is out to keep me quiet!) But it is indeed true! With multiple studio sessions completed — and several yet to be completed — the shape and sound of this work has emerged, and I am so excited!
